Definite dates, Mr. Godard said, would be announced on tbe bulletin board. Courses open to Juniors and Seni ors include: Bible SOB, “Jeremiah and Revela tion”—Dr. Gettys. French 46B, “French Conversa tion”—Dr. Delano. Economic Geography Mr. Ken nedy. English 42B, “Tennyson and Brown ing”—Dr. Stout. English 21A, “The Short Story”— Miss Tillett (this does not count on an English major, however, but it does count as elective credit.) In the field of education will be offered: “Educational Psychology.” ■“Classroom Management. “Primary Methods. ’ “Practice Teaching.” The customary courses for the sec ond semester will be offered in Home Economics including courses in Mrs. Eastham’s “Advanced Clothing, which was begun last year. - rs. Eastham will also conduct courses m “Household Physics.” Mrs. Boo er will teach “Institutional Food Study and “Family Relations. In the field of business department. Miss English will have “Secretarial Administration, Management” and “Office Practice. There is a possibility that a course in “Commercial Law” may be offered. The annual Queens-Chicora College Stunt night will be held in the col lege auditorium Tuesday evening. Stunt, which is held in November of each year, is sponsored by the athletic association of the college. Martha Stoner of Elberton, Ga., is jiresident of the athletic association. Miss Cordelia Henderson, head of the physical education department of the college, is the faculty advisor. Each of the four classes at tbe college will be allowed to give a skit lasting not more than fifteen min utes. Each class will have a gallery to support the members of the cast for the skit. The galleries will sing songs in keeping with the themes of the skits. Judges from the city will select the winning stunt. The stunts will be judged on the basis of originality, acting, costumes, scenery, co-opera tion, etc. The class being judged as QC-Davidson Music Heard The combined musical organizations of Queens and Davidson presented a musical program Nov. 17 at David son and Nov. 20 at Queens. A special feature of the concert was a solo, “Black Roses” by Frances Riddle. Other selections were given by A Cappela choir, the Queens Col lege choral club, the Davidson glee club, a symphony orchestra, a string ensemble,' and the chorus and or chestra. Alpha Kappa Gamma Has Tapping Services Q-C College Is Honored Queens was honored on the “Toast- chee Time” broadcast, sponsored by the Lance Packing Co., Tuesday, No vember 14, at 10:00 P. M. The tribute was in the form of a medley of reminiscent songs of just a few years ago. It included “Did I Remember?”, “Take My Heart,” and “These Foolish Things.” Bob Sylvester and his orchestra were ac companied by Olga Vernon and Two Queens and a Jack. Attention was called to the fact that Qucens-Chicora College is the out standing Presbyterian Woman’s Col lege in the Carolinas, and is a fusion of Queens College and Chicora Col lege. The medley was dedicated par ticularly to Dr. Hunter Blakely, the thirty-four faculty members, and the four hundred students. N. C. Bird Club Has Meeting Miss Sarah Nooe of the Queens- Chicora Biology department attend ed the fall meeting of the North Car olina Bird Club, in Greensboro, No vember 10. At the meeting a talk on “Suggestions for a Christmas Bird Census” was made by Dr. Francis Craighill of Rocky Mount. Movinjt? pictures were shown of Lake Matte- muskeet where the next suggested field trip is to be. Dr. H. H. Brim- ley of the State Museum gave a talk on “Odds and Ends on Bird Knowl edge.” Then there was a paper read by Dr. C. S. Brimley on “Gops in Our Knowledge of North Carolina Birds.” The state president. Miss Claudia Hunter of Henderson, is anxious for Charlotte to have a local chapter. If any of the girls know of people who would be interested in belonging to a bird club, please give their names to Miss Nooe. services of The fall tapping Olympian circle of Alpha Kappa Gamma, national honorary leader ship fraternity, were held at Queens Chicora College Wednesday morning at the student government chape exercises. Seven students and two faculty members were tapped. Members are selected on the basis of leadership character, scholarshi}), and specia talents. The services were opened by Vir ginia Smith of Charlotte, president of the chapter. Dr. Hunter Bryson Blakely, president of the college, read the Scripture. An explanation of the purpose of Alpha Kappa Gam ma, the requirements for membership and the history of the national am local organization was given Faculty members tapped are Dr Lucielle K. Caroline is secretary of the Day Student council and is vice-president of the junior class.
